Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KansasCOM) is the first osteopathic medical school in Wichita, Kansas. I collaborated closely with a writer, the school, a design manager, and a signage company to develop and install all environmental graphics.
The project kicked off in February 2022 with a Zoom walkthrough of the empty five-story campus. The school provided pictures and floor plans, which served as the foundation for brainstorming ideas for each wall.
Initial mockups were created using Adobe Illustrator, and concepts were presented in an interactive format with Adobe XD. Users could click on a plus sign on the floor plan to view the design concepts for each wall.
All fabrication for Phase 1 was completed by July 27, 2022, in time for the Grand Opening. This phase included modular wall vinyl for easy updates with real student photos, raised acrylic lettering for quotes and mission statements, vinyl wall timelines, acrylic standoffs, and frosted glass elements.
Phase 2 was completed in April 2023, featuring framed art and custom graphics throughout all floors.
